PhD Thomas Ekman Jørgensen


Born in Copenhagen 1973, MA in history and German studies at the University of Copenhagen 1992-1999, Erasmus-student in Berlin (Freie Universität) 1996-1997, PhD from the European University Institute, Florence, 2004, presently post. doc. at the University of Copenhagen.

My main area of research until the present project has been the Left in the 1960s and 1970s, I wrote my MA on the Danish Student Revolt and my PhD Thesis about the Left and the nation in Denmark and Sweden. This research has resulted in a number of articles and two forthcoming books in Danish and English (see publications).

Present research concerns totalitarian movements in the period around World War I comparing communist and national socialist/fascist youth movements in Germany and Italy (see research project).
