Personal data:
Sidsel Eriksen, b. 1958, cand. phil. University of Aarhus 1984, Ph.D. University of Copenhagen 1992.

Assistant at Statens Erhvervshistoriske Arkiv in Århus. Part time musician in Århus.

Research fellow 1987, research assistant 1994, research lecturer1997, senior lecturer (substitute) 2000. Since 1992 also external lecturer (teaching and supervision activities) at the Department of History, University of Copenhagen.

Research fellow in Department of History, Uppsala University (Sweden) in the autumn term 1986; by Nordic Counsil for Research in Alcohol and Drugs in Helsinki (Finland) in April 1989; at the Department of History, University of Gothenburg (Sweden) in the spring term1990 and in the spring term 1991, in USA (Berkeley) in april-may1992.

The Research projects have untill summer 2000 continuously been financed by external project sources from Carlsbergfondet (The Carlsberg Foundation), Kirkeministeriet (Department of Church Affairs), Sundhedsstyrelsen (Department of Health), Helsefonden (Health foundation), Humanistisk- og Sundhedsvidenskabeligt Forskningsråd (The Danish Humanistic- and The Danish Health Research Counsil), Nordiska Nämnden för Alkohol- och Drogforskning (Nordic Counsil for Research in Alcohol and Drugs) and Forskerakademiet (Danish Research Academy).

Administrative tasks:
Secretary in Historisk Samfund for København (Historical Society for Copenhagen) for six years; Member for four years of Udvalget til beskyttelse af Videnskabeligt Arbejde (Committee for the Protection of Scientific Rights) under AC (Central Organizations for Academics) as a representative for younger researchers at the universities; Member for two years of Magisterforeningens (Organization for Academic Teachers) governing body as rep. for younger researchers at the universities; Member of Samordningsudvalget for Center for Rusmiddelforskning (xxx) for two years; since 1994 consultant for Den store danske Encyklopædi (The great Danish Encyclopedia) within alcohol and drugs.
Research in progress:
Doctoral dissertation (thesis) proposal in the history of alcoholism (in Danish). Preliminary title: Neither Wet nor Dry. On the making of the Danish Alcohol Culture. The project is in a intensive phase of writing and the final termination of the project depends on the volume of teaching and supervision duties at the Department of History.
