Conference Extended

Due to an unexpected high number of submitted abstracts, the
Religious Encounters in Digital Networks Conference has been extended by one day. Thus, the Conference is now scheduled to take place at the University of Copenhagen on 1-3 November 2001 instead of taking place on 1-2 November only.
Twenty-four Abstracts Submitted

2001 Twenty
four researchers have now submitted a title and an abstract for the
Religious Encounters in Digital Networks Conference. The researchers
come from such countries as Canada, Denmark, India, Italy, United
Kingdom, USA, and Sweden. They represent various scholarly traditions
including Communication and Cultural Studies, Ethnography, History, Literature,
Sociology of Religion, and Theology.
Call
for Papers
1 March 2001 The
emergence of the Internet has provided a new context for interaction
between religious groupings and individuals in modern society.
Researchers, who are interested in the expanding field of
religious communication on the Internet, are hereby invited to
participate in a Conference that focuses on this subject area. Especially, we welcome
papers that seek to build bridges between contemporary theories of
religion and specific studies of religious usage(s) of
conversational services on the Internet such as news groups, chat rooms,
email, and interactive web applications. A
provisional title and an abstract of your paper (approximately 200
words) should be submitted to the Conference
